Get ready for a special action-filled week!
You'll meet new friends as you share a cabin with seven other boys your own age and two counselors. You'll select activities from a list that includes: fishing, slingshot, BB guns, archery, model rocketry, craft shop, learning how to row or paddle, swim, and more...
You'll learn how to build a fire and cook a meal. You'll hike to one of the highest waterfalls in the Adirondacks, enjoy the waterfront every day, catch and race your own frog, and paticipate in a Stockade Olympics among many other special activities.
At night you'll gather around a roaring campfire for songs, skits and a story that illustrates a Bible truth. And each morning, afternoon and evening you'll enjoy more food than you could possibly eat!
If you will be ten years old by September 1, 2012, then you'll also have the chance to go on an overnight campout. Or come to camp for two weeks, enjoy extra activities and have more time to learn a special skill.
A life-changing week for teen guys!
At age 12 you leave the Stockade and move to the Battalion end of camp. You stay in a cabin with guys your own age, no 12 year olds with 15 year olds and no 16 year olds with 13 year olds.
Bring a friend if you want, but it's easy to make friends at Northern Frontier. Two of the best friends you'll make will be your own counselors. You'll think Northern Frontier counselors are awesome, and the counselors think Jesus Christ is awesome. They will help you toward real manhood, not the fake manhood others offer you.
You can come to Northern Frontier for one or two weeks and choose activities like archery, riflery, canoeing, rock climbing, rocketry, fishing, ropes course or sailing to name just a few. You'll enjoy campfires each night including skits and an exciting story told by one of the counselors you'll get to know. The chances are that your time at Northern Frontier will be your best week of the summer. Talk to someone who knows Northern Frontier and you'll know why you should come. Then next year you'll be the one to talk to!
Upward, then outward!
CORE TRAINING is a challenging two-week program designed for young men 14-16 years of age who desire to grow as men of God, and hopefully become Northern Frontier staff. The focus of the program comes from Mark 12:30, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself." CORE TRAINING is intended to direct focus first upward, then outward.
Through a wide variety of challenging, fun and thought-provoking activities, these young men will examine what it means to be a man of God, how to serve God, and how to deal with life from a godly perspective. They will also be challenged physically and learn to put their reliance on God as well as on the other young men in the program.
Any young man desiring to participate must apply and submit references.
What sort of man will you be?
A hallmark of Northern Frontier is developing mature, male, Christian leaders. In recent years, we have noted a decline in two development areas: a man's character and traditional male skills. MANcamp addresses both.
Two mature, Christian men - professionals in general maintenance - will not only show you, but let you try your hand at the basics of electrical work, plumbing, auto maintenance, carpentry, welding and more. Your Bible Exploration times will focus on the character qualities of a man: Integrity, Courage, Conviction, Competence, Faithfulness and Passion to name just a few.
You'll enjoy Northern Frontier's waterfront each day, attend Battalion campfires and play Battalion games, but your focus for the week will be on who a man is, and what a man does. The one-week program is limited to 8 campers - ages 13 through 15. You will bunk together in the same cabin. MANcamp is for young men who do not live with their dads or whose dads are not "handy." In a very few years, you are going to be a man. Who will you be? What will you be able to do? MANcamp is designed to help.
