Serve Christ. Build Men.
At Northern Frontier, a summer job is more than work. It’s a calling. You’ll step into the wilderness, live shoulder to shoulder with young men, and help shape them into godly leaders. It’s challenging, it’s rewarding, and it’s the kind of work that leaves a mark on your life forever.
LEADERSHIP BY DOING
You don’t learn leadership from a book. You learn it by living it. Every day at camp you’ll guide boys, run activities, solve problems, and take responsibility. It’s immersive, real-world leadership training that carries far beyond camp.

COMMUNITY BUILT ON CHRIST
Northern Frontier is not just a workplace. It’s a brotherhood. We live together, pray together, and grow together. Covenant relationships here run deep, marked by intentional connection, honest conversations, and accountability in Christ.
INVESTMENTS THAT LAST
We care about you as much as we care about our campers. Staff receive spiritual mentorship, practical coaching, and the encouragement to grow as men of God. You’ll leave camp with new skills, stronger faith, and friendships that last a lifetime.

We Work Heartily
Being on staff can be hard work. The days are long and physically exhausting. The work we do at camp makes a difference in many people’s lives. It requires time, focus, energy, and flexibility (even vaporous!) We seek to hire staff who will take ownership of their work and the work of others too. This is because, as believers, we know we are working for Christ, not for ourselves. As a community, we rely on God to supply our strength to do His work as we pour ourselves into the lives of campers every day.

Summer Staff 2025

Staff Roles
Every role is different, but every role matters.
Walk alongside boys as a role model and mentor. Lead games, share devotions, and help shape their camp experience. Lifeguard or Wilderness First Aid training preferred.
Take on full cabin leadership. Counselors mentor campers day and night, teach skills, and lead activities. Requires CPR and Wilderness First Aid.
Tell the story of camp through your lens. Capture photos and videos, edit content, and deliver media that shares the joy of camp with families.
Keep the camp running with good food and a clean kitchen. Be ready to work hard, start early, and serve behind the scenes with excellence.
Why It Matters
This is hard work. You’ll be stretched physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But you’ll also gain experience that will shape your future:
• Leading with confidence.
• Speaking and listening with care.
• Handling responsibility and crisis.
• Building your resume with skills that actually matter.
• Growing in Christ as you pour into others.
What you do here isn’t just a summer job. It’s discipleship. It’s ministry. It’s preparation for the rest of your life.

NF ON YOUR RESUME
Northern Frontier is a place that provides many benefits both now and in the future. It’s where you learn and practice professional competencies that will serve you well in future employment. Therefore, you should speak of this work on your resume and in future interviews for what it truly is: Professional Youth Development!
Consider what the job might look like on your resume.
While working daily with a team of childcare professionals, I accomplished the following:
Connected with each camper through intentional conversations, listening well and seeking opportunities to engage campers and build community among themselves; developed a team-mindset among peers and supervisors while problem-solving camper and program-related issues.
Fostered a community where campers felt safe to explore, to ask questions, and to try new things, where they experienced a strong sense of belonging and shared power.
Served as a guide, provided direction while allowing campers to learn in their own way and to cultivate their ability to solve problems.
Implemented the camp mission through various programs, including large group activities and intentional small group activities, while also bringing a fun spirit and high energy to programs; took responsibility for an instructional skill area and inspired others to learn and grow through that activity.
Reviewed parent concerns and goals for their child, greeted and oriented parents to the camp experience, and provided specific feedback on their child’s growth while at camp; communicated camper and program needs to co-workers and supervisors; provided customer service to a diverse group of stakeholders.
